Here is our 13th December question and answer for the Daily in December: Maths Puzzles and Problems series. Have fun talking to your children about this Christmas themed maths word problem.

When was Santa’s workshop built? How old will it be in the future? Discuss with your child how you can find out the age of Santa’s workshop at different times. Be careful with this one though, you might need to check your answers.

This question, or something similar, is one that is a ‘real life’ question type. It is something that your child may want to think more about to increase their skills when adding and subtracting multiples of 1,000. It is a useful word problem type to practice.
